Hi ginasmarans, I would love to see some pics of your cuckoos and thier eggs. Do your silver cuckoos have feathered shanks?

Ivywoods..I've been told that it's a vitamin deficiency that causes the blood spots. At least that's what the folks at Meyer Hatchery say....

These are some from my clean shank marans. This is representative of the range of colors. Sometimes I get darker ones. I got one really dark one this year, I would say at least an 8, but the shell had lots of deposits on it. Alas, it was cracked so I could not hatch it. My feather shank eggs are a little lighter,but they are improving each year.

As you can see, I have a ways to go with these, but I am hoping this year they are better.

Quick question....... I found some real nice looking FBCM in GA. The guy is wanting $25 each. Is that a reasonable price? Sounds a little high to me.....I'd have to buy 12.

Rotti.. tell us more about them... pictures, egg color... any accolations? That may be a BARGAIN depending or a complete rip off... It costs me nearly 25 dollars to raise one to adulthood so that is a fair price for any bird that can lay a number 4....I wouldn't take a penny less than 35 for my worst birds... but my birds are decent.

I hatched out a hen from some eggs I got from you year or so ago and she lays nice dark eggs like those
