Love the rest of the flock....that Pip is looking very proud of himself up there on the peak. He is a pretty boy and I love the size and body of that first boy.

Hi Pink ~ No, I think it's a reflection from something, maybe the light in the brooder? I can't believe how old he is already, and how quickly he feathered out! He has legs like tree trunks

. I guess time will tell if he is a blue or a blue copper, his daddy is a blue copper.

I don't know if I'm going to candle any of them or not...maybe at lockdown just to remove any if they are clear or quit. In the process of making little dividers for the hatching tray in the bottom for keeping breeds and certain individual single mated eggs seperate, though this time there is no possibilities of any mix ups, I only have Wellies and Marans in there and did not set any single mated test eggs, I usually only have to make sure that all of the Olive Eggers are seperated away from any of the Marans eggs. Going to let them all hatch in the hatching tray and see how it works.

That's cool, keep us posted, we are at day 20 and 4 eggs have pipped-none are Marans.

I noticed his big ol' legs and he looks like he has nice toes, I think, he thinks, he is one proud looking boy already and he is right, something about those blue boys, they do have a llittle "blue" 'tude.

Maybe it has something to do with the dust til dawn light at the edge of the pasture.......LOL. The Wheaton's crow is different from the BCM & the juvrniles make wierd noises too. I notice it when I am out there & then there is my son's Red/Golden Pheasant rooster makes totally different sound to add to the chorus...........LOL. Yeh, I think I need to hold down the laughter at Pip, it may be what's ticking him off!

Not to mention the neighbors will be wondering about my sanity...oh, who cares. Gosh, did I really compare the sound to an "air raid siren"??? Man, if THAT isn't dating myself!
