Hi Susie,
Do you mean the 4 foot deep inside house would be divided into individual pens with kennel fence run outside of each? That would be great for your breeding pens & alot less trouble than the ones I build since you already have the bones. Good for you. I had nothing to start with but a big open corral.

After talking with my hubby, he wants to rebuild the entire thing. That will make it 20' x 40'. Woo hoo! That should be enough for chicken math for a while. If I need more than that, well, it will just be too much. The only problem with the plan is that I know it will take the two of us quite a while to do this ourselves. I will have to put my breeding plans on hold for a while.

This old barn has a cement floor, and really isn't far from the well, and we will be able to run electricity to it. That will make it so much nicer, especially in the winter. I'm sure if I built little breeder houses they wouldn't be very good for the winter. There should even be room for hubby's buck goat in one end of it.

OH BTW- We had twins last night. Buck and a doe, nubians. These two are the biggest goat kids I have ever seen. They are bigger than our two week olds. We now have a total of 7.... triples, twins, and these twins last night. They are SO cute!

Too Cool!!! I could use a 20' x 40' space.......so jealous, but I bet it ROCKS when it's all finished. For sure you will enjoy it. I definately would.
Congratulations on the babies.

Woo hoo! The temperature is actually supposed to rise above freezing today. 36. It will be a heat wave. I'm so ready for this snow and cold to be gone so we can get started on all the other projects we got going.

Mel, I can't tell you if those are wellie eggs or marans. I don't have wellies, but I can tell you I do get some that look like that from my BCM's.

Thanks, Pink. I'm sure every bit of space will be used. Somehow we tend to fill up all available space. Not sure how that happens.

Didn't I give you one? Me thinks me did.

Didn't you get 3 Marans and 2 Olive Eggers? I know for sure the 3 older birds are Bill's kids and thought the other 2 were pure Davis.....those would be Gnarles' babies.

Okay, Okay....Ivy, I'm glad that you will be warming up. It will be healthy for you. In order for you to get warmer weather I am having to give up my "Springtime in February" that has been so nice this year....now we have no end in sight to the rain! The rest of the country better appreciate what I am giving up!

Pink, I thought I had "Bill Babies".....you mean I got some of both?

I guess I just want more new baby chickies. I can see where this is leading. My tax return will probably be going to a new incubator this year. (and I wanted to buy a new wall tent for elk camp...)
