I would like to personally thank "flgardengirl" for taking and posting the pictures from the Newnan show. That was a lot of work !

In one of the posts in regards to the Best of Breed Hen in the Black Copper Marans, after the pictures were posted, someone (I don't remember who) questioned the eye color on that hen. Pictures can be deceiving.....Let me assure you, that hens eyes are as "orange-red" as they come. There is no dark eye on her.

Congratulations to all the participants and the placing birds......the competition was awesome. It was a real honor to have had the Best of Breed Hen at such an event.

I did not realize how beautiful the Black Copper Maran roosters were until I saw them in person at the Newnan show.

I have a Cockoo Maran Rooster. I need to post pictures of him, his colors don't seem right. He is barred but it seems he has a yellowish tint.

That hen is so laid back....Nothing seems to bother her. She just makes herself at home in the coop. Gets up, eats, drinks, scratches around a bit, settles herself right back down and sleeps. She will look at you like "why are you bothering me, go away" when I move her around in the coop. When we get home she goes right back with her friends, has a dust bath, and goes about her business like she never left home.
