Hens under 1 year old are referred to as "pullets"....I'm not trying to be critical, it's just that I'm a writer and majored in english...( and yes, I still make mistakes!)

Aww yes. My Mother was an English/History major, teacher........but our language grows, and new words appear.
My former husband is my 'wasband' ,......people who are just followers are 'sheepeople'........my grandson was so excited one day when he told me he was about to go to the 'movieater'.
I notice when folks use 'there' when they mean 'their',..........and Thank Goodness for spell check, 'cause spelling is NOT my forte!!!
Thanks for your help, I appreciate your correction.
OH....BTW........my biddies become chicklets and then they become chicks. LOL

Wow Mel, you had to blow the dust off that old post didn't you? What were you doing way back there in... what January's posts?

I'm an English Major too... switched from Biology after 2 years because I found I could get good grades without killing myself by writing instead of solving complex chemistry and physics problems.

Didn't do much with it though... was a Kinko's Manager for more than a decade... though I think it has helped written and verbal communication in all aspects of life.
