Yes! We have sun here this morning too, but they are calling for 40mph winds! That's ok, it will help to dry us out a bit. More rain coming in Sat. night and Sunday!
My garden plants are chafing at the bit to get planted. My tomatos are getting root bound and big! Rained here on Easter Sunday, so that means 7 following Sundays will be rainy!
I'll admit...I am behind on planting my seedlings..and that it is on purpose. After seeing the weather not changing at all I decided I'd wait as late as possible on the planting times for veggies to get them going because last year was the same way. Spring just was a mess with all the rain and had plants get root bound and not do all that well waiting to be put out.
It's not even going to get into the 60's here again today. I feel like I have done the smart thing by
not even planting a garden this year. Instead, I am going to put a lot of cow manure, pig manure and a moderate amount of chicken manure on my 50'x50' garden area and then cover it with black plastic for a year. My soil type is
"sandy river-bottom loam" which is about as good as it gets.
The weather man says that next year we will be having a change in weather patterns due to ocean conditions and we should have a much warmer/drier spring.
