I am relatively new to Marans. I have hatched 2 clutches of black copper, blue copper, and splash. But I have one that I cannot identify from my last hatch. I was hoping someone could help me identify this beauties' coloring. This is Speckles. Her parents were both Blue Copper Marans. Her clutch mates are splash. I know she is pure bred Marans...simply because there is no other option in the breeders coop. I hatched her from a small clutch of eggs I got from a friend. The eggs were all 7 and 8 on the color scale. Her egg was an 8. The parents are from Bev Davis lines. She does have light feathering on her legs, but it is difficult to see on this pic. The feathers on her legs are the same as those on her body. I am thinking she would be a Splash Copper, but I can't find any pictures of a Splash Copper pullets to compare her to. She hatched July 29th, so she is 14 weeks old now. I hope someone can give a little direction!

Received 13 Birchen eggs, I decided to split them up and gave 7 to the broody and left 6 in the incubator. Wonder which one will have the better hatch rate?
