Hey Lenette!

Workin on more cullin this week...gonna have to start on the birchen pen...this is gonna be hard!!!

But it needs to be done to improve my line... Just came in from chores and it is cold and wet, supposed to turn to snow later... barf.

That's a bummer..just when you get time to work on the pens then the weather has to get nasty. Its been the same here but with the rain. I just need two more nestboxes and two more doors and my big 6 house breeding coop is totally done!! Well I still have to paint it and get the roll roofing on there but hey it's only taken us almost a year LOLOL!! I do still need to get the fencing done too but really happy I'm this close. Dh has the next 3 days off and is gonna help me do the doors.
I bribed dd to paint it for me so if she finds time in between her social life maybe the paint will be done next week too.

I got the Semi new coop finished and got them all in about 3pm and just went out to check on them and they were all wondering around making their crying noises wondering whyere to roost at in the new place and like 8 of them were smushed in the corner freaked out. So One by one I set them on the roost along the back of the coop... by the last chicken they were all fast asleep yay me !

haha that's too funny! I always hate those first couple of nights when you move birds to new pens...they get all upset. You'd think they lost their best friend the way they carry on. Glad you got your coop finished! just in time for the crappy weather eh? I'm working on sorting out the miscellaneous birds I have wandering around that will go to the exotic sale this weekend. I've got some stragglers in different breeds that I can't justify feeding over the winter, but will make someone a fantastic addition to their flock.

sure...forward me that email...I don't know how much i'll be able to help them this fall, but never know.

I will. I put an ad up for chicks and got a crazy amount of inquiries on my adult birds. And not one for chicks.... Darn! But tomorrow I am taking all 8 of my adult dark brahmas and 3 banty birds in to omaha to go to new homes.
Which seals the deal I am officially getting out of the Darks kinda makes me sad... but I'm going to focus in on my marans project and continue with my cochins for a bit.

for some reason it always is sad when getting out of a breed....esp if you've been raising them a while...i also have the same problem with people always wanting everything but what I advertise...makes me wonder sometimes.

Luckily the lady that's getting them wants my whole dark brahma flock and has been waiting to get a package deal! Even the 2 roos. Unlike the other people who emailed wanting disect my flocks. So I'm kind of happy she's gunna take them all. And her kids and her joined a poultry club this spring and are dying to show these babies so that adds alittle extra sweet to the bitter sweet feeling.
We have no percep here yet but I'm crossing my fingers for some snow......

Yes I'm a crazy christmas/ snow FAN.

I've have been waiting all year for a real snow. So Ill be alittle let down if I don't get it! I know lots of people hate people like me

but oh well... I hear there is one in every crowd!
