to me, that doesn't look like a chicken...The wing feathers and shape are different. I'd guess a wild bird of some sort..its hard to tell how big of a bird it might be tho

I tend to agree with you on that...I'm thinking that maybe it was a hawk (Redtail) that either losta fight or died of natural causes...

that's what I was wondering about..is a hawk. It looks like the feathers are more along those lines...what other big birds do you have around that area?

We have a variety of hawks from Sparrow Hawk (which is actually a Kestral, a member of the Falcon family) all the way to the Redtail, which is our largest. We have Great Horned Owls and Barn Owls. We have Bald Eagles and Turkey Vultures...it could be a Great Horned Owl, since it has real long wings and a relatively small breast bone...

Oh I know exactly what a sparrow hawk is...that's all I'm going to say about that on here.

Its hard to know exactly what it might be I suppose when there is not more of the body. Sounds like we have most of the same birds here. Saw a bald eagle the other day...haven't seen one that close in a while.

but Redtail hawks are not blue...

Maybe they used to belong to one of these....I snapped this photo about 3 weeks ago.

What can I say I have this thing for blue birds.

I didn't really even notice the color to be honest. I was looking at the shape of the wings and feathers haha

Nooooo....not big enough to be a Great Blue Heron. Besides, the breast bone is too small. Good guess tho, as I have Herons regularly at my blugill pond, which is only 50 yards away....
