I was the "coronation" - it was the autocorrect on my iPhone...sorry!!

Cadeau...i still owe you a look over on your birds. Its been a weird day and hasn't turned out like I'd thought it would. I gotta go talk to my mom for a while, but if its not too late when I get back and I can think clearly still I'll shoot off a thought or two on them.

No worries!
I'll probably remind everyone another day bc I'm a pain!!
and I really do want to know if I'm on the right track!!
Especially need input on the roo!!

We're culling tomorrow, so, if anyone gets a chance, opinions would be much appreciated or I'll just do my best and keep the "maybes" until next freezer day!

Have a Happy New Year!
Lots of breeding luck to you all in 2012!!

OMG!!!! Spay and neuter your dogs young!!! If i hadn't been so poor and far away from the clinics, I would not be going through this nightmare yet again!!! Heeeellllooo??? Why don't dogs go into dogopause???
roll.png
Fourteen year old female, who couldn't handle the spay or the ride to the vet at this point; or a 10 year old male who may take to castration with a major fight, and a major price tag, like $65.00 to neuter?? Plus a 60 mile drive??? Plus a 98#, high prey drive dog that may take their arm off?? Crap! Happy New Year, and this is only day 7 of the heat, and she smells pretty for 14 days!

Thank God she is only having one heat per year; I guess that qualifies as doggie menopause??

I'm so tired...

Try putting vanilla on the outside of the males' nose.

Hi all. I don't have any Marans yet, but my husband wants me to look in to the Black Coppers. He saw some listed on CL and got interested based on the seller's description. Besides just their rarity, what is special about them? Do restaurants in the US buy their eggs for specialty omelets, or was she full of it?

It looks like she copied most of the text from this web site: http://littlepeddler.webs.com/maransingeneral.htm

Does
anyone know this breeder? I'm not far from her. If her birds are good, I'm not too far from her.

HA! You don't know this dog! Mucho male. I've tried vanilla, chlorophil (sp) in her feed, sprays on her butt area, peppers, you name it! Seven or eight more days of crating, whining, howing, breaking down gates to get to doors that have their limits, e-collar that even has limits, and pure frustration all the way around! I keep eyeballing the lamb crastrating bander in the junk drawer, (doesn't everyone have one of those in their junk drawer??), and wishing it could happen here in this scenerio!

My fault, my bad, my PIA!

At least, like my Cluster headaches, it's down to only once a year!

Seven days and counting.....

I have several Black Coppers. They are big and they have also been really friendly chickens. Much more than my other breeds. I think the special part is probably the egg color. The hens aren't exceptional looking but they are my favorites at this point.

I'm sure some of them do, IF you have an NPIP inspected flock, that also has a USDA approval. Check out the links in your area for USDA approval of egg selling to commercial businesses like restaurants and such. Do your research first, so you are forearmed! Don't take everything you read on the web as Gospel either, go to the sources!
