Ugh... I want some eggs in the bator so bad.... I fell like I've been waiting forever for these guys to get laying. Don't know what else to do for them...so frustrating!

Since we are kinda on the subject, do you think you can have too much light? I mean do you think if I got a 300-400 lumens flashlight it would hurt the chicks eyes. There are some on ebay pretty cheap unless you get the 700 lumens. When I candle it just seems like a little more light would help lots, even on the Ameraucana eggs... I can't see in them with my 120 lumens.

Has anyone had any luck seeing much in the eggs with higher lumens? I can see veins but after they get pretty big I can't see anything.

OK....where is the smilie that's doing a little jig?! I need one! I just got the best news!! I am going to be the new owner of a sportsman hatcher with the clear acrylic front door!!! My uncle bought himself a new one and doesn't need two, so I get the new one!!!! I'm so stinking excited!

I've been daydreaming for quite a while about getting one, but those puppies aren't cheap! My uncle is freaking awesome!!

I'm gonna have an awesome hatching year!!

I visited the Lake City show today too. Guess what I came home with? Two Wheaten Marans pullet chicks whose mother I saw as an entry - she was beautiful (to my unshphisticated eye anyhow). I'll be watching this thread to continue learning from all of your generously shared experience.

haha I'm getting his old one...but it works perfectly! I am not hung up on needing many things new! I am just still kind of in shock! I didn't even know he was looking for a new one...I think he must have gotten a good deal on one. He really is one of the best people I know! And yeah...Debbi joked about it...and not even a couple of weeks later it happens....! Hey Debbi....I got a list I can PM ya that you can just say out loud every once and a while to see if more of them will happen!! haha
