Nice pics, Pink! ANd on pink velour , too! Of course.

haha exactly! All the years I've been hatching, it never goes away! I still get so excited, just like a little kid! Probably will be that way til the day I die....I am a sucker for baby animals of any kind

I hate the late hours , long hours, sleepless hours of lambing, but it's all worth it watching them pronk up and down in a little mini flock zipping around the ewes.

I'm dying to get incubating again. I'm making myself wait until I have the breeding pens made and the breeding trios paired up and wait 30 days. It's gonna kill me to wait that long. But then, after the eggs are set, I'll be checking those eggs about 15 times a day , too!! I'm still suffering withdrawl.

I can hook you up with a variety pack to test the incubator

VERY, VERY did I say VERY, tempting !! I still have about 50 6 wk - 3mo olds in the house. Yes in the house. When these are transferred outside I will feel like an empty nester . . . . and will need to incubate some more.

Way too easy to become over run with chickens. I need breeding pens AND grow out pens. Thank goodness for the no snow winter.

Arielle, you're making the 20 I have in laundry seem like nothing! But oh, my, the dust!! My sick Marans baby seemed better enough yesterday that I decided to slip her in with everyone else whhile I was cleaning out the brooder. Bad Idea, within a minute she was trampled and on her side, sooooo back into the sick room - in the kitchen, where we can clearly hear her through the night. BUT where she looks up and greets me each and every time I come through. Much better last night, we're going to name her, the kids like 'Peepers'. But in my experience, that name is the kiss of death.

DMRippy: Turns out, she was exposed to soil, I stupidly brought a clump of soil and grass for the younins to tromp around in and on, not thinking through that I could have been exposing them to worms, duh! I. treated my big girls outside, but non of the chicks as it would be too hard on them, especially our sick lil one who has now been dubbed 'Pearl'.

Pinkchick: Those babies are yummy!! I'm in Lockdown.... No Marans, but some DS has some Bantams in, the eggs are so small, I wonder if the chicks are gonna be teeny weenie too? Probably will seem that way next to the English Orps they're in there with.
