OMG OMG! My very first marans egg ever! This girl is only 22 weeks old so I was not expecting her to lay yet. I have read about them taking a lot longer to start laying. I guess spring is in the air!
I also have a naked neck turkan green egger that laid today too for the first time.
These are all my pullet eggs so far. So cute. (barred rock hen egg for comparison)

I think it is between 4 and 5 on my egg color chart.

Ohhhh, Christie! So pretty - and that egg looks darker than a 4-5 to me! Congrats!

Hey Debbi, let me know how those eggs do from Wynette, I get some in a few weeks!
I might have even had yours, but some dummy filled the bator up with pheasant and quail for a sweet little old man that asked me to hatch for him.
Ans of course, there was room for 6 Showgirls.
And I just picked up some Paint this weekend.
Decisions, decisions.....

How funny!! I am jealous of your Showgirl eggs!! I will have at least one NN roo come spring! Looking for a Splash hom. boy to put in with my Silkie girls! Who did you get your SG and Paint eggs from?? You can PM me if you'd rather not disclose here.

Oh yes, I will let you know how the eggs do! Got them all settled in this morning, hatch date is March 11.

Babies are still popping away...have 27 now and 2 more almost out, that means only 11 to go. I will be dry hatching from now on without question!

Oh, yeah, my humidity is at 20% and one part of my brain wants to add water, but the other (small) part says NOOOOOO!
