Wow Kim, that's odd and neat all at the same time! I had heard of the term "ghost barring" before, but wasn't sure what it was, thanks Vicki. As for the white feather, see how easy it came out? Don't ya wish you could do that with the combs??I know I do! All 3 of my big boys here are strutting around with one, big, white sickle feather! Usually, they molt those out within 2 weeks or so, but noooo, these things are hanging on like a proud banner. All the birds here are in various stages of molt, most are coming out of it, and a few are just starting. I think a lot of this has to do with the weird weather we had this winter and now. Bad Charlotte has yet to start! She is so stubborn, and did her bad thing again last night, being the last one in. I figured out why; she is awaiting the roosting of Mr. Pekkar, who will jump her as soon as she hits the run. Funny thing is, he doesn't go to roost, he goes to the backside of the coop and waits for her. Once she enters the run, he comes tearing around the side in a dead run. Poor Charlotte doesn't even try to run any more, she just squats, and waits for the inevitable... The odd thing is, he is the only roo she has ever done this for; I think it's Blue chicken love!![]()

Yep..I see how easy it came out but I'm more worried about how fast it will come back. LOL!
Bad Charlotte has a little half sister here......Bad Betty and she is just like her big sister. Always the last one in at night.
She does have feathered shanks it just doesn't look like it in this photo and they are not street sweepers. Wish they were. I love the body on this girl...but I don't think I will use her for breeding. I'm not impressed with her comb. No sprigs or carnation crud ........just don't like it. We will see.
