Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

Neat pic Vicki! We are looking at some strong storms in the early morning hours. It has been gorgeous here lately! Still waiting on the Wheaten eggs, should be here tomorrow or Friday. I figured out some more with my camera, I'm not sure this is the right one for me. Got a great pic the other day of my Splash girl, Dopey, and can't get it to upload ANYWHERE! Not even onto a photo optimizing site! Strolling through the menu of the camera, I saw the setting was on "Fine", so I switched it over to Normal. Let's see if that doesn't help, otherwise, I don't know what to do??
that might be it indeed...there is also a format option for some memory cards on cameras that will help sometimes as well.

My camera has an option to change my picture type and size. I love that! I can make them smaller on the camera a lot quicker than loading them and opening them and editing them...

Maybe if your camera has that option you can edit them on the camera so then you upload them to the computer. I don't have my camera to look but it is in the menu and one is file size and file type. I can make it VGA (I think that is it) and it take a 2 meg picture down to 150 kbs. Great for this forum and my computer harddrive. I know there is also the file type thing in another menu and you can pic the TYPE of file like JPG or GIF or what ever they have these days. Sounds to me like it is a file TYPE problem and not a size thing (that would be the normal and fine that is how BIG the file will be)

Cool pic, Vicki!
Is your farm really up that high?

A guy is coming for 2 and another guy for 6 tomorrow and some other guy wants 25.

I keep telling SO that the guy who wants 25 is only going to turn around and sell them again, but he thinks the guy just wants to start a new flock.

What do you guys think??

Thanks Vicki and Donna. I'm still trying to find all of the different settings on this new camera, the instruction CD didn't work on my puter? The manual stinks, and doesn't explain much, but I'll go back and check it out! I finally got the one pic to load!! Only took me and hour and 10 minutes!

Here is "Dopey", and her hatchmate "Pekkar" to her left. She was totally freaked out by the noise this camera makes, so she is standing very upright. Right after I clicked it, she BOLTED!!!! They are just over 5 months old...

I love her, Debbi!

haha - my camera "barks" like a puppy (arf!) at each picture taken - takes the chickens a bit of getting used to

Ummm....have to ask - WHAT is that huge green LEAFY stuff outside your run....

I'm over here celebrating about 1/8" of grass!!

haha....up high?! um....no. I live in the plains...that's just one of the storm fronts coming in. There are the bohemian alps to the west of me that gets some crazy hills and roads that put your heart in your throat if you come over the top of a hill too fast haha Ironically...when you drive through them you will find some of the craziest stuff...like a camel farm

haha...in your camera menu you should be able to shut off the sound if you don't like it...and some cameras have different sound options that you can try out.
My guess on the plants outside of Debbi's run would be dock weed or maybe comfrey? Its about the only thing I can think of that has that shape...that is unless debbi's got some Kale or chard going over there! haha

I like her Debbi! She has the tighter feathering that I kinda like....not overly ploofy

Debbi, go the website of your camera and see if you can download the stuff that was on the CD. They may have a PDF of it or something... you will need your camera model info.

I like the splash too!
