Well gotta run for a bit as we are participating in our 7th Annual Valley Garage Sale tomorrow and need to get a few things done............. tons of families participate, wish I could drive the 11 miles of garage sale bliss, but alas I will be manning the fort this year. DH gets to cruise the sales this time instead, it's his turn.

haha...I had sent pics in a PM cause I felt like I had posted too many pics a couple weeks back. I don't have more current ones as it has been raining the last few days, but here's the ones that are from before. He's a nice boy and picked him up to look him over today and am really really liking him. And apparently I can't load photos this morning. I even restarted my computer, but no go. So i'll just forward you the pics

The growout pens you are building, we are waiting for pics.....

We finally got some much needed rain here, more in the last few days than in the past month! It amazes me how those outside Silkie babies are thriving! If the temp drops 5* here in the brooders, the chicks are all wailing, but these guys were out in the cool wind yesterday running around, scratching up goodies, eating and drinking with their parents like nothing was wrong! If they get cold, they go and stand underneath their Daddy, too cute! Had to do some fencing improvements to their pen, as I DUH, forgot how much smaller they were than the Marans babies, and the little stinkers found they could squeeze their little pudgie butts through the chicken wire!

Into the Marans pen some of them went, and luckily, only the 11 week old chicklets and Clyde were in there. The mamas yelled at them, not to mention I got around to the other side of the fence in break neck speed, only to see them pop back through the fence! Little turds, the grass is always greener...At any rate, I think I'm going to pull all broodies off the eggs, they should've hatched by now. I have a lady patiently waiting for the Partridge broodies, as she wants to buy my remaining stock of that variety. Then I will have...temporarily...a free pen for when the Wheaten eggs hatch next weekend! Still going to have to build their pen, and maybe now that it's rained a bit, the ground will be softer to work with. I still have 6 more Silkies and the one Showgirl inside in the brooder, so they will probably get the Partridge pen first. More Marans to cull out here, so that will free up more room too.

The garden sure has perked up with all this rain, glad I got the newspaper and straw down before it came! Looks nice, and seems, so far, to be holding off the weeds! Can't wait for my first tomato!!!!

hey Debbi! Just got home from work....I am sooo glad to have tomorrow off, I can't even tell you. Hopefully it will be build day for me if the weather behaves.

Sounds like things are going well down your way. Have you checked your wheaten eggs yet? When do they pop?

I have 3-4 BBS Marans eggs pipped, and 5-6 Blue and Black Copper Marans Pipped

Ha! There is no sense in me even trying to candle these eggs, too dark for my flashlight, so I will let them ride. They should hatch next Friday, Sat., and Sunday; three of them were of my own eggs. I suspect if anything hatches from the Wheatens, it will be the 8th and 9th.

Went out this afternoon to pull the eggs out from under the Silkie broodies as I suspected they were done. Boy, was I wrong! Two more hatched in pen 2, to make it an even dozen so far, and one egg was pipping in pen 1! Guess I'm going to have to pull the eggs from pen 1 tomorrow and put them in the bator, as a lady is coming by on Sunday to buy out the Partridge flock. I guess the broodies know best, eh?? Sheesh!!!
