yeah...unfortunately I think you are right. 105 heat index yesterday with 65% humidity, not quite as bad today, but still disgusting humidity. Tomorrow's supposed to be a reprieve...although they've upped it to 80 already from 73....so who knows.

Oh...yeah. My dad's surgery to amputate his leg will be Friday afternoon....

I got to DIP my feet in the creek a few days ago.... that felt so good! It is shaded where we get water and the creek is all SPRING feed and SOOOOOO COLD all year.

Now to make time to go SIT in it when I get too hot! That is one reason we bought the farm, to play in the creek.

Vicki, it may be time for you to evaluate my new pullets. I think we are going to move them tomorrow to the Marans pen and I will send you pics. They will all stay till I see eggs. I think the good side of that is my light layers are covered by my Black Copper and his sister lay a nice dark egg. My dark layers are with Pinkchicks Lt Blue Roo and her eggs are a good color so I HOPE they all lay nice dark eggs. But I am most excited that most have copper necklaces

Oh yeah, since I lost that pullet yesterday, I set 60 eggs to make up for it

18 are for an order. Just a small hatch.... then I am done! I promise! I would not have done that if I didn't have an order. But I can't just run that BIG bator with 18 eggs..... didn't make sense.

The lady is coming Thursday, I think, to get the cuckoos. Just some. I am POSITIVE that blue broody cuckoo is throwing the babies with gold. She is going. I have to look over the others and see if they have any gold. I hate to get rid of them but I need a CLEAN slate of gold and then I can start with SILVER

I will get pics of the Blue boy with slight cuckooing too. In a way I like this thinning down thing... never could do it with my weight, but with chickens it is EASY
