One of my 4 month old Pullets just laid her 1st tiny egg....isn't that a little too young?
Who has the darkest egg and great looking FBMC's available nowadays...I think the eggs I've received last are maybe a 4+ color wise...but the color does change by cycle right?

Vicki, I put that GOOD LOOKING Splash Cuckoo Roo in with my Reg Cuckoo hen.... so now the wait ..... I will find out for sure if he is a Splash too

he looks just like he did only A LOT BIGGER.... so pretty. I may have to try to get pics and send them to you later.

I emptied a pen today, so pullets are going to move tomorrow.

I have sold some of my Lav/Splits/Black Ams so that will give me another pen for pullets. Going to move the Wheatens from the tractor to the Wheaten pen

That is all going to cut down on my feeding time too.

If the weather holds I am going to take some pullets and chicks to a Flea Market Saturday.... that will cut the feed bill even more.

I have completed two new pens, so I kinda know what you are talking about.
I also got rid of about 8 birds in exchange for goats!
I still havn't figured out what to do with them yet. But they really are cute!

My Fall is going to be full of pen hopping till I get everyone settled. Hubby thinks I should use my Breeding pens, for grow out pens... I think he is right, just not ALL of them.

sounds great Donna. I was checking the thread and fell asleep. Today was truck day and we were down 2 people, so I'm just shot. Thinning down is such a great feeling, so I hear ya on saving time and money. I've made the decision to cull down even more than I have since I got into the Marans. I just need to make life as doable as possible right now.

I still have that email to look over again for you. I think I'll be lucky if I end up with a couple of days off in September.Got the schedules over the weekend and its loooooong strings of days and nights are going to the poultry show prep since we are getting closer.

get miniature cow lady. Much more manageable.
