Funny Farm (who has a website but not one that pertains to her Marans)is listed as a breeder on the Marans Chicken Club USA Website.
While we arent really supposed to link outside poultry organizations for BYC rule reasons
Ill pm you the list of breeders.

Someone posted images of two charts side by side on the Yahoo forum a while back. It looked like the newer Marans Chicken Club postcard egg shade numbers are a few shades darker than the earlier one and is closer to the French site chart and the one in Fancy Fowl magazine.

Does a #8 egg on the old card look closer to a #5 or #6 on the new egg color chart?

If that is the case, it matters which chart the sellers are referring to when selling eggs on the auction sites.

Yeah, Tina, don't worry about tryin' to copy the cards. Thanks, but they're surely copyrighted and somebody put some work into producing them, so it's cool...I'll just buy 'em. Thanks for the info. on the Aumauraucaunau (sp?) breeders club.

We merely printed the chart from the Marans France website onto glossy photo stock. It looks great and cost next to nothing.

I think anyone who buys or sells these birds should have one.

See, I got some eggs from "onthespot" three weeks ago, but with all the trouble I've been having with my incubator, I really wasn't that hopeful....
Today, I checked on the 'bator to find a perfect Black Marans chick!
I hope the rest hatch, but either way, I've already fallen for them!

I have six cockoo marans hatching as we speak, Ihope they make it, I am so excited and my Bc eggs will be here by the end of the week. I can't wait I want to show so bad I hope a get a show quality BC. Please please please

two chicks have hatched they are huge, the fist one bled after hatching but seems fine now. the second one seems to have a large blister on back of neck,but look like little dinasours with huge feet.
