Introducing Marble and Mini, my new ducklings! They're 9 days old, we got them two days ago, any tips on bonding? So far they just bite us constantly and scream , doesn't hurt but we don't want them to be scared of us like this.

Try hand feeding them for a bit before picking them up. While they're busy gobbling, you can rub their chests with your finger to get them used to touching. They'll soon figure out that good things come from those big people-monsters. Food is the greatest equalizer!

Agreed!

I call those little nibble-bites, duck kisses. They are like most babies and explore with their mouths.
All ducks act somewhat scared - it keeps them alive. In the wild, everyone wants to eat them and they do not have a bill or feet for fighting anyone off. As the others have said, treats like thawed peas, dried mealworms, lettuce, etc. go a long way. As does time and slow patient movement from the side. It can help if the container you have them in is accessible from the side and allows them to see out and get used to movement. I cut a hole in the side of a plastic box and covered it with screen and duck tape. Enjoy your babies!
