Good news, the farm store had chicks today. I’m going to sneak them under my broody tonight since her eggs died on Monday when she was on the wrong nest all day.

It took forever to get eggs from my breeder and my impatient butt grabbed some bantam chicks from tsc when we went in to get the adorable easter feeders and waterers. And I was bummed because they didn't have the blue color, so made myself feel better with a pink and purple one and 4 chicksGood news, the farm store had chicks today. I have a forced air NR 360. I had the incubator running for 3 days before I set the eggs and the temps were dipping down below 97.5 at the 99.5 setting. Thus far the set temp at 100 has been working well, but tonight for some reason the temp is creeping closer to 101 and that makes me nervous.Jeapa, depends on what kind of incubator you have. if it is still air is should be at 102. I have still air and may only lower temp by .5 on day 19 or so... depends on how the egg candles...
We went in for chicken food and were hoping to get 2 or 3 chicks for the broody if they had them, and ended up getting 5 because they had 3 different varieties of wyandotte that we wanted. It took forever to get eggs from my breeder and my impatient butt grabbed some bantam chicks from tsc when we went in to get the adorable easter feeders and waterers. In my incubator I have a few gold laced wyandotte and A BUNCH of blue laced red. I'm pretty excited. I wanted more gold but he was short on eggs after the freeze. We went in for chicken food and were hoping to get 2 or 3 chicks for the broody if they had them, and ended up getting 5 because they had 3 different varieties of wyandotte that we wanted.

So jealous of those lavender orps! I have 7 buffs in mine! But I'm not a huge fan of the buff compared to others. I got them for a friend who really wants me to send her eggs when everyone's mature.Got 12 eggs in the mail today (thank you again Wolfwalker!), so I set up my incubator to pre-heat it and will be setting those and any extras I find tomorrow. So I'll be hopefully sharing some hatches on the 28th.
I am very excited to see how these guys do.
6 Speckled sussex,
5 Lavander Orpingtons,
1 Welsummer,
and rn I'm at 3 from my own mixed flock, so we could get some interesting barnyard mixes or some more buff Orpingtons. I'll see if I can collect another couple tomorrow to hatch along with this clutch.
