I ordered some Guinea fowl eggs thay should be shipped monday, if all goes well they should hatch mid march.
I'll most likely add some chicken eggs to hatch around the same time since I heard raising keets with chicks helps the then grown guinea not wander off too far?

I’ve never had guineas and I’ve never seen any Keets! Can’t help you with the wandering off thing but I guess if they were raised with chickens it makes sense. Can’t wait to see the little Keets when they hatch!

Can I join in? I originally set 9 call eggs and 4 pekin. The pekin were 2 days ahead and never started developing. I removed those today (day 6) . I have 1 call showing no development but I am leaving it for now.

I have 8 call duck eggs developing! They are on day 4 today! Hatch day should be around March 4th.

I am absolutely ecstatic to see that all but 1 of the calls are developing as of today!

A seller on etsy. The indicated source flock has a mix of colors, so hopefully I'll be able to tell apart whatever chicks hatch.

At my previous property I got two keets that were a few weeks old and raised them without chicks. Once mature enough to explore I followed all advice but soon enough they left me for my neighbours flock of Guinea
A friend told me if I hatch my own and raise them with chicks they will bond as one flock and be less likely to wander off too far without returning. Since moving I dont have any close neighbours with Guinea fowl or even chickens so I'm hoping this time they will stick around

Apparently my kids want more chicks because they put 40! eggs into an incubator. not sure how fresh or old the eggs are but I guess I'll find out in 6 days
