MARCH 2021 HATCH-A-LONG 🌷🌸🌼

I messaged the seller about the broken guinea eggs just in case they can make a claim, they said they haven't had any breakages before so asked for photos to see what went wrong which I provided. They genuinely feel sorry and have offered another dozen with extra padding for the costs of postage!!!! Of course I will say yes.
I'm shocked as I have never been offered replacements nor ever expected to be

People are good! 🥰

And I'm crossing my fingers I don't have one! LOL I want my silkies to keep laying but if one goes broody they ALL go broody!
Haha! To be honest I’m a little afraid of this because I’ve got buff Orpingtons and brahmas and they’re known for going broody! They hatched in July last year, and are just starting to lay so I’d like to keep getting SOME eggs (or my husband will kill me...and the hens. 😂)

if I get a broody or two, I have a smaller coop o can put them in that I used for the ducks last year

Every time I have tried my broodies to a different coop they broke so I wish you luck!

I have had meyers send eggs like this-

and some that just send in egg cartons wrapped in tissues and some times the eggs in cartons and tissues hatch better.

I suppose it is how long they are traveling too. Meyers eggs seem pourous to me, and thin shelled but the air cells are good.

I find the eggs that are double boxed with some sort of cushioning layer between the boxes fare best. 😊

So I’m already doing chicken math and I don’t even have any broodies yet!! 😂😂😂

i think this year as far as chickens I will hatch a couple “Farmyard mixes” from our own flock. I also want to add a few lavender and a few black mottled Pekin bantams because they are just 😍😍😍

so I’m hoping for a broody end of March for chickens, and then possibly in may to do 3 ducklings.
