MARCH 2021 HATCH-A-LONG 🌷🌸🌼

Can't wait to see them!🥰
Me too! Last year I hatched ONE! Now I've got 4 hatching!
Ah so eggciting!

black copper marans, cuckoo marans and lavender auracanas are on my March hatch wish list!

My goal is to crossbreed an auracana cockerel with a Maran hen and my welsummer hen and hatch some olive eggers later this summer!

Then I’ll have a pretty good rainbow of eggs going! 🥰

I'm itching for some olive eggers and more easter eggers!

Great projects! 🥰

I've decided to pick up some cream legbar hatching eggs after my Silkies hatch.... Then, as much as I want to pick up some other breeds, I will probably stop for a while and see how everything develops over the summer. Last summer I lost quite a few chickens (15) to predators and illnesses like Salpingitis. If I don't lose many this year (mostly because I know better what I'm doing now), then I probably won't pick up more until next year.... I want to be respectful of space for my existing animals, not to mention how much it costs to feed them all... I have 40 birds right now WITHOUT the 22 Silkie currently in the incubator.

Posted this on the spectacular silkies thread as well, but thought all you silkie incubators/hatchers here would also enjoy it! Photo from this morning.
The plate they are all standing on is a dessert sized plate.😊
6 silkies hatched Friday and Saturday. First chicks from my stock I got from Alabama silkies. So excited and they are already sold (I have a wait list). Keeping back one so far. Have some more hatching next week (I am on the February hatch along as well).
I guess I am an "official" silkie breeder now!🤣

Happy Valentine's Day!💕

Do you have a local buy and sell website in Austria? Maybe you can find a good used one? 😊
Wonder if you can get one sent over from the US, like the Nurture Right 360, you would have to use a converter for the electricity though. They are around $150 US.
Brinsea is made in Great Britain. They are pricey here, so expect they are there as well. I know that Great Britain is no longer a part of the EU, but maybe getting one from there would be doable?😊
I already visited some sites but the shipping cost are above 80$....
I will save money for this incubator
