The most curious one, it's face reminds me a lot of one of my hens when she was a chick :love

What kind of eggs did you bid on? 😊
You can jump on the April hatch-a-long already on full swing!
I didn't get them sadly. So now I have to figure out what we want to hatch next. We've been leaning towards trying to start a breeding flock, so we want to get something nice where we have a decent chance of re-homing roosters. My daughter wants to try salmon favorelles. I'm interested in a nice dark egg line of marans. But we were bidding on crevecoeurs. I'm all over the place these days. Swedish flower hens, bielefelders and maybe cream legbars are all on the radar too. Honestly though, my favorite hen is a speckled sussex. I want a flock where they are all as nice as that one :)

Sorry you did not get the eggs. 🙁
So hard to decide what breed to raise. There are so many beautiful breeds! I also had the hardest time making up my mind. I really love the English orps, but it is almost too hot for them here. I also love the Marans, but there are a few others breeding them in the area. So many factors involved. I finally decided on silkies as there is a market for them here and I am able to get a good price for straight run chicks. They also take up less room in my limited chicken space. 😊

Here it is now day 18, turner is off and eggs are now in the hatching drawers.
All silkie eggs looked good I think, even the egg with the saddled aircell looked much better, aircell has now a straight edge like the others, but is still bigger than all the others (...it is the biggest egg).
Only today  I really noticed one egg is white (all the others are cream or soft rose).

Pummel's 3 eggs looked good I think. Most of the blue and green ones looked good regarding their air cell, but I couldn't recognize anything inside anymore (last time I still could detect some veining in some, now everything is too dark).
The completely dark one with no visible aircell is still the same.
One looked like there is kind of a glow, and we also saw a dark shadow in it, like a moving black cloud. I don't know if it was moving because I moved the egg...
My mum and I both suspect this egg sadly quit, but we are not sure and not experienced enough and left it inside (marked with a question mark...)
We both sniffed this egg and the dark one and couldn't make out something weird/no sulfur.

From when can wiggles be observed?
Eggcited 😆

Yay! So exciting!🥰
You may not even see the eggs move. I have only seen it a few times.
It is also actually pretty rare for eggs to explode. If you are not smelling anything bad, I would just leave it in there if you are not sure. It is hard to see anything when you candle at day 18, as the chick has filled up the space at this point. You may see some slight movement, but not always.
Can't wait to see what hatches!😊

Oooh and I thought they would just wiggle all over the place 🤣
Thank you for telling me and saving me from sitting there for hours (or days 😂) and staring at the eggs and waiting for 'all those wiggles' to start 🥴
Glad to hear it is pretty normal we couldn' t see anything but black.
Ok thank you, we will just leave the egg in question in there. I would be so glad to be wrong about it and a baby would hatch.

I'm trying not to think all the time about the eggs up in my room just not to go nuts 😅
