Don't be jealous....I only have about a 84-95% hate rate...and it is always the eggs from the one's I want to hatch or the color...they don't hatch...

Candled tonight - day 7

left with:

11\\12 Pumpkin Hulsey
4\\6 White Leghorn from the Feb BYC swap
too dark=can't tell 36 FBCM
5/5 bantam blue Cochin
7\\9 Speckled Sussex
2/5 LF Brahma
0\\8 Australops

Out of 81 original eggs we are now down to 65.

Not too great.

Just candled late day 9 because I couldn't wait until tomorrow ....Out of the 15 mail ordered Plymouth Barred Rock eggs:
4-5 are good
4-5 are possibilities
4-5 are not expected to hatch.

Not bad for the test hatch of my new bator and for being mailed. Next candling is on friday day 14.

Of 14 black orps I'm down to 8. Shipped eggs, I don't feel bad about that at all. Lockdown Tuesday! Got my fingers crossed

Almost March! My final hatch is in the bator, due on the 6th. Day 15 here and 13 of 19 eggs are still going. All 19 were supposed to be hatched at my son's preschool, but they had to back out last minute, so I kept them in my bator.

4 of 7 shipped eggs were duds, and the remaining 3 have horrible air cells. Not counting on too much there.

Most of the barnyards mixes, all local, are doing great. I have one gorgeous green egg that I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for!

Sad news, we had a long power outage. Looks like all 41 chicken eggs are toast. They were only on day three, but after running in the bator now for 2 days, nothing is candling.

However, my ducklings that were only 9 days from hatching survived it!! Who knew?!?!!!

lockdown has begun! out of the original 8 shipped duck eggs i have all 8 developing right on track

now the agonizing wait and the countless trips to look into the incubator, straining the eyes looking for a pip! sounds like fun!
