March Hatch A Long... anyone with me??

Set 20 Lt & buff brahma eggs 12 am this morning due on the 7th but had some problems. Eggs came in the mail and I let them set in 69 degree house for about 30 hrs till I thought I had my homemade bator set to the right temp so I put the eggs in and went to bed. Woke up at 7 this morning and went to check on them to find that my max temp was reaching about 99 degrees and shutting off and dropping to 96, so I moved the hotwater thermo (what a pain to get set) a little bit away from the light fixing the problem and cutting the temp off at about 100.5-101 and dropping to about 98...Realizing this is about the best that I can get it set I QUIT messing with it and I am hoping for the best.

I'll let everyone know if my mistake was succesful or not.

Just ordered my eggs! Great deal too...
16 eggs maybe a couple more depending on what can fit in the box.
Getting 10 Marans Eggs and the rest Wellies with hopefully a couple of OEs thrown in.
Marans could be Blue, Black or Splash.
To be shipped on Tuesday the 22nd so I hope to have by Friday and set on Saturday the 26th... That will give me a hatch date of 3/18 if all goes according to plan.

Count me in!!! Just set 10 OEG's, 8 EE mixes, and 3 red stars on Friday night. Test running a wine cooler/heater as a bator. I Hope it works!

Well tonite is the night! Eggs are ready - bator is good ! Nervous but excited - First hatch - going to go home pour a glass of wine and set the eggs! Sad for a single guy - but oh well! LOL

Wanted to know as far as turning - i have the eggs marked with an X on one side - an O on the other so the turning would be from the X to the O each time you turn correct? But always an odd number of turns a day? Sorry first setting of eggs here!

I really dont think that part is as critical - as really the hen isnt on a specific clock when she might shuffle them around ...but i may be wrong.

My last hatch (and this one) I have turned twice a day.. at approximately 8 am and 8 pm.. Other than all the infertile eggs last time, it worked like a charm..
