March Hatch A Long... anyone with me??

Well, today apparently was Texas A&M Quail hatching day. We had rockers last night but this morning I heard movement in the incubator at about 5. Two had hatched one was fluffy and one was wet. I'm thinking grrrrrreat. One will live, the other will not and no one else would hatch. So, I just kept an eye open....had about 5ish chicks at about 9. One had a hock kinda stuck and I ment to "assist" but forgot and went to breakfast. We got back and Stuck Hock Dude was free and we had 18ish chicks. We had to move them since they were running over eggs and causing general mayhem so into the brooder they went. We still have rockers although not that many and about 4ish maybe 5ish wet to fluffy chicks in the bator and I lost count at 25. Talk about running around!!! They seem to be eating ok and drinking which is a really big deal with quail. I have that green BioGel stuff and they really like it. They like it even better when Mama MustLoveHens feeds them their mash.

So, I have no idea how many we will end up with out of about 55ish eggs. We still have till the 29th. They hatch 17 to 19 days. The quail hatch is going much better then the chick hatch did and now I'm feeling kinda guilty since I didn't turn the quail eggs much nor pay super close attention to the humidity and heat in their Still Air LG.
Here is a pic or two:

I must say that the way bargain packed the eggs was great, and I am sure this helped a lot! She definately made sure that she did what she could to limit the amount of damage the post office does.

I know you can only do so much, but she made sure things were covered on her end!

Will definately purchase from her again!!

Here I go again! Just set another 40 eggs due to hatch on Palm Sunday! This hatching stuff is addictive. I was hoping for one or two hatches and now I am on my third! The first hatch was eggs from my own chickens, the second hatch was mostly from shipped eggs - didn't turn out the greatest - and now this hatch is 17 shipped Buckeye eggs and 23 of my own NH eggs. I am already a nervous wreck again and I am only an hour into this setting!

2 out of 13 have hatched. Hoping it's just a slow start...
I've got silkies in the hatcher. Guess what #2 was???? A showgirl! Whoa talk about a surprise! The eggs were sold as silkie eggs only, turns out there was a showgirl in the pen that the seller didn't *think* was laying. Oh well sure is a cutie, has messed up feet though. How long do I wait until I put little shoes on the chick?

Congratulations ~ I put shoes on my one with curled up toes after he was dry and fluffy and in the brooder ~ but the earlier done the more likely it will work. I used a piece of card stock on the bottom and sport tape all around sticking to the card stock between his toes. Make sure it can stand up OK ~ don't tape up around the foot joint. It fell off after a couple of days and his feet were fine by then. His head looks wet, but that was dried egg goo.

wish I could tell the difference in between batam fav eggs and silkie eggs, if I could I'd have a few of my own!

Local people mostly. I ship eggs but prefer to work on trades.

out of 41 eggs. I had 1 Mille Fleur d'Uccle hatch and I think somthing is wrong with its legs. It acts like it can't stand. I'm not sure if it is just because it is weak or what. Does anyone know. It just sits on its butt and scoots around.
