March Hatch-A-Long

Nothing wrong with that. Mutts are fun lol
I definitely agree. Some of the prettiest chickens are mutts.
For example:

Sounds like a good group. My second set got set this morning for the attempted staggered hatch. Letting the temp balance itself now without going past 102 so will be adjusting through the day. The first set is on day 6 today. Poor homemade incubator is not meant to hold this many eggs lol I would say 36 would fit easy, 42 snug but fine I have 51 in there lol

Well, I ended up candling yesterday and my eggs are alive!
Unfortunately, 2 sultan eggs were infertile and all of my cemani crosses seem to be infertile as well. All d'uccle eggs are going great, and I put four more cemani crosses in the incubator; hopefully some of these are fertile.

Nice to hear on the d'uccle eggs doing well and good luck on the new additions to the incubation.

I wouldn't mind having Turkeys but just isn't logical where I currently live since they fly so much. Good luck with them though :)
We have two fences. One by the road and the one we are doing around the poultry area. I also have cameras and the boys usually are outside in good weather. So the turkeys "flying" don't get far and since we hut them up until they are older I tend to not have an issue with them getting out much.

Just ordered 10+ Heritage Barred Rock eggs from what seems to be a very reputable seller on eBay. The pictures of his chickens and reviews were great. Saying should be here by the 9th so hopefully my setting them on the tenth is doable..I was planning on ordering from Meyers but they don’t have ship date now until March 19th. I originally wanted 20 eggs but I don’t have that. I’m thinking of going ahead and purchasing six chicks at chick days.
