See :smackIm such a newbie...didn't even see that but thank you for showing me. Im trying to learn all I can during this first hatch. This thread has been an awesome learning tool.:clap
Hey, no worries! It takes time to learn and I’m happy to answer any questions I can. If anything, I should’ve circled it to begin with...I just got excited and didn’t think about it  So :smackto me not you!

I found my first official blood rings today. :( Day 13. 2 were non viable, 2 died. One is VERY active. I can see him swimming around. When he swims right you can see him dragging veins behind him. I have one that I could swear to you has two babies inside it. Two little embryos growing. I'm sure it's a trick of the light, but it looked so real.

That’s too bad :( Glad the one is looking good and active, anyway!

The only time I’ve ever seen two floaters is when the embryo grew wrong and separated...I’ve never set double-yolkers, so two growths is more than possible and, unfortunately, in my experience, not good. I usually still give them a chance, but keep an eye as those ones can go bad.

I'm thinking it may be the way I candle. Otherwise I have two that seem to have two floaters. These guys seem to have the odds very stacked against them. When it's time I'll have to figure out if I should lock them down with the empty space in their egg facing up (It's saddle cell, but the cell starts from the bottom, not the air cell) or the not attached air cell. *Scratches head* I'm glad I did so much research during my first batch. This one is going to be difficult.

Unfortunately, I've been very busy this week and haven't had time to get on very much, but here's the most recent updates:
Yesterday, I stopped flipping the sultan eggs do on tomorrow and today I stop flipping the d'uccle eggs do on the same day. Hopefully all goes well and I have some chicks tomorrow, but I need to set up my box-brooder. Last Saturday, we purchased some leghorn chicks(because I just love leghorns and they were cheap) that are in the bigger brooder, but last year, we made another one, so all the chicks will have a place.
Continuing good lucking everyone and congratulations on chicks and pipping. Hopefully I can soon join you.

Good luck with your hatches!

I did morning candling on 3 that I couldn’t tell anything and here at day 5 they still show no signs of veins. I will give them to day 7 and toss. The more room in my incubator means my Turner will work better. There isn’t much room for it to move.

The one egg that was clearly more advanced on day 2 (picked it up by accident ) didn’t look good yesterday and today I think it’s worse. It would day 6. That one was more likely to have problems since it was one of 3 that my silkie left in the nest for 5+hrs. There is another that looks very similar .... the air cell is all wonky.

I upped my humidity because the air cells look a bit large and I won’t be here next week.
