A little help for a newbie please...Im using the brinsea advanced II so it counts backward from 21 days. I set my eggs Sunday Feb 24 around noon. So today is day 18 or my brinsea will switch from 5 days left to 4 days left around noon today, Weds 3/13. So should I candle today and then fill both reservoirs with water take out the egg turner and put in the little corregated cardboard disc or should I wait until tomorrow after noon time when my days left says 3? but that will be day 19. or maybe Im over thinking, well, yes, Im definitely over thinking I dont want to mess this up right at the end. I think my brinsea will automatically stop turning the eggs but not until after day 19 maybe???Im confused.

Let the countdown commence! Locked down 19 eggs after candling and only 2 looked questionable, so high hopes for some fluffles to arrive Friday/Saturday

What day did you set your egg? We are on a similar time frame and Im trying to figure out when I should lock down and raise the humidity?

I'm in... my seven eggs ( 2 Marans , 2 Amerucanas and 3 others ) are on Day 19 in the incubator. When I took them out of the turner and removed turner from incubator, every egg felt very "heavy" so I will be hoping for a hatch.

I just noticed three out of my 6 eggs were just moving in my bator!!! So at least for now 3 are alive and well on day 18...of course I took video of it!!!

I love the lockdown egg wiggle!! Almost as exciting as seeing a pip!

The eggs I just locked down were set the 16th (duck) and 23rd (chick). I just count weeks, so I candled and threw them in the lockdown bator last night, then cranked the humidity this morning. I figure I’ll get my first pip tomorrow if there are any ambitious babies in the batch

For what it’s worth, it’s better to lock down sooner so the chicks can get into position. Good luck on your hatch!
