March Hatch-A-Long

Pics
Lockdown! I’m hopeful for 23 of the 25. 2 are still very alive, but not filling up the shell like they should be. maybe they will just be a couple days behind the others. Which is weird because I set them at all exactly the same time.

Within a half hour of going into lockdown I saw some wigglers already. Bring on the babies!
That's great. Good luck with lockdown.

I'm new to this community and this is my first post, apart from my new member introduction.

I just had 6 of 7 eggs hatch this past weekend (Saturday & Sunday). 5 of the 6 survived and are doing great. 2 are Lavender Orpington chicks and 2 are Olive Egger chicks. I also bought 2 EEs & 2 bantams at TSC this past Friday.

1 of the chicks are a cross between my Lavender Orpington Roo and a Cinnamon Queen hen. Has anyone ever crossed these 2 breeds? If so, what will the end result be in regards to chicken appearance and egg color?

Thanks and happy hatching everyone! :jumpy
Welcome. You'll have to share some pictures of your chicks. Also, what breed are the bantams you purchased?
I don't know what that cross would look like as I've never done it myself. Actually, I've never even heard of a Cinnamon Queen before.

I don't know what breeds they are. One is all black and one is all blonde. They just said bantams on the bin they were in.

130 eggs in 3 days, spring is here for us. My husband keeps asking me why I want to hatch more...... My answer... Because I love it, nothing more but love:love

I don't remember if I posted in this thread before. I tried hatching turkey eggs this month. Here is my update Of the turkey eggs it was not a big success... I have 1 who appears to be healthy and doing well pretty blue color. Another yellow turkey who is weak (legs) and has a clicking noise. There was another that hatched that was weak and did not make it and one died after pipping before zipping and so I'm kind of bummed.
