Ok Im in. I have never done this before so Ill need a lot of help and moral support
I got a Mini Brinsea Advance II and plan on setting 7 eggs today. I dont have roosters so Im getting some from a breeder friend nearby today. I wanted more colorful egg layers so Im hopefully getting some wheaten marans, maybe cream legbars, olive eggers but her specialty is swedish flowers so I may get some of those too. So a mixed batch depending on what she collects today. I have no idea what Im doing but from what Ive read the brinsea kinda does all the work but Im sure I'll have questions so you all have been warned

Don't worry, one of the main purposes of this thread is to help each other.
I'm guessing this is your first time hatching. It can be difficult at first and a little confusing, but it gets easier. If, or when, you have questions, feel free to ask. Hatching eggs is a great learning experience and a lot of fun. Good luck on your hatch.

I might as well join this one too. My eggs went in the incubator a little over an hour ago. So hatch day should be around the 17th. I'm also in the February Hatch along I don't mind being in both

Good luck with your incubating. It looks like you might end up with St. Patrick chicks

Just some extreme temperature issues with pets interfering with the incubator and such. This time they are in the bathroom, no pets to bother the process.

I'll join in~ I've got two batches due the 4th and 7th. Batch #1 has 18 Tolbunt polish(Frizzled&smooth) 6 Lavender orpingtons, and 11 cream(Crested) legbars. And batch #2 I have 8 call duck eggs. Saving up some more call duck eggs to set on the 2nd of march(hatch date would be the 28th), So far I have 6 saved up, thinking i'll have 20+ saved up by then~

Temperature can be a big problem if not kept stable. Last year, the power went out for several hours in last couple of days of incubation. Thankfully, everything hatched okay, but the temperature got pretty cold.
As for your pets, I completely understand. My cats like to sit on the incubator or on top of the brooder; I think it has something to do with the warmth. (of course the brooder could also have something to do with moving animals that look like fun toys)
