I'd like to join. Hova Bator 1588 will be here tomorrow or Tuesday. Picking up 12 silkie and 12 Easter Eggers/Maran cross eggs on Wednesday. First timer, can't wait to see how things turn out.

It's more of a practice run then anything. I have quite a few chicks that I plan on breeding when they come of age. I want to see how it goes and iron out any kinks that may come up before I start hatching from my flock.

Mine is basically just for fun, I'll be ordering the chicks I actually want from Cackle to pick up around hatch time.

I just love to hatch and raise the chicks. Invariably, I end up hatching too many for me to keep and have to sell some off. Just tickles me to see them develop.

Hi all! I set my first batch of eggs, due to hatch March 9. I’m using a Janoel12 and this is my first time hatching, so I am preparing myself for the worst. Fingers crossed I’m wrong, though!

I have 8 Silverudd Blue Isbar and 4 Ice Cream Bar (Isbar x Crested Cream Legbar). I candled yesterday and it looks like 1 or 2 have a blood ring and 1 never developed. I’m going to leave them in for a couple more days and check again.

Welcome to the thread. Hopefully the rest of your eggs continue developing smoothly and you have a good hatch. It's exciting hatching eggs, especially the first time.

The power went out at my house yesterday morning, but came on in about an hour and a half. Unfortunately, it went off again at around 6:39 pm and stayed off until 10ish this morning. The temp on the incubator went down to at least 60F, but it may have gotten lower after I left. With any luck, a few may survive, but we'll find out when I candle them in the next couple of days.
Hopefully, everyone else is having better luck with their incubating.

Oh no! That sucks Fingers crossed you've still got some growing, What day are they on?
We had a pretty bad wind storm yesterday, Gusts up to 70 mph. Luckily no power lines went down during the storm otherwise i'd have freezing chicks, poults and eggs everywhere Couldn't sleep at all yesterday I was so worried..
