I missed a week of this March thread Had to hurry and catch up just now

Im here too all month .
I and some Los due tomorrow...
And Well lets see i have some silkied ams due in march,
and more of my los...always
trying for my LBs so far cant get a fertile egg! ....DANG hav some refirgerator ones i am going to candle i n a couple days That should be interesting.
Oh and should have some white ams on the way this week so March also

Also have some chihuahua puppies due March 16th They are incubating now LOL ... Hope i can fit them in with all the hatches .

Hey Rox!!! I moved over here cause everybody else did- didn't want to get left out! Glad you are gonna be hatching this month too!

And oh wow I didn't know you had chihuahuas too! So do I, I have 4. My mama dog, Bambi Sue &her 3 pups (well they're not pups anymore tomorrow is their 1 yr birthday) - love my babies- along w/ my pug, aussie & lab/dane cross

Pick "her" up by the scruff of the neck. If she fights a few seconds then holds her legs up against her belly: Hen. If she fights for more than a few seconds, "she" is a roo. This usually works best when they're a few weeks old. Hope it helps!

well crap-o Peach I have to buy more than I hatch or I wouldn't hardly have none

and plus if I can't hatch the ones I want, I figure I can get the live birds then hatch eggs from my own- maybe I'll have better luck than w/ shipped eggs?

And speaking of shipped eggs- one of my frizzles hatched and another almost out. I did have to help tho cause #1 has been pipped more than 24 hrs, not making much progress at all. So I helped zip the shell, then put it back in- it's nearly kicked itself out now. #2 pipped wrong end, then preceded to zip long ways up the shell, but it made it out! I candled #3, still could not tell anything. I decided to make a pip and take a look. Fully formed chick completely shrink wrapped like a mummy & dead! So looks like I'll have 2 chicks from my frizzle hatch. better than I expected honestly!

I. Got some of those pellets at the feed store today too for my brooder!!!

Don't you love them! and they work out perfect for my little duck too, keeps their brooder much cleaner!

Rox I'm with you- have no idea what I'm gonna do w/ all of them. DH asked me today " can't you just still talk to all those BYC'ers even if you are not hatching anything"

I just about peed my pants laughing at him! I said of course I can, but it's more fun if I'm hatching too- his response was "Oh" hehehee!!! He has no idea about the lemon cuckoo orps & SLW eggs that are on the way!

Bad as me..ihave 6 chis and ...4 English Mastiffs and about 30 chickens now.(dog AND bird over kill i know)
Minnie was bad,wasnt supposed to happen...she opened the door when she was in heat and went in with my tiny male B while iwas washing dishes .barked for me when i ran in they were hooked up already!! As if to say to me "see what i did"?
DANG IT!!
Oh well i have previous puppy parents who have friends who are great to their dogs and are recommened to me (only ppl i let adopt my puppys ) ...so 4 are sold once born Its just she has to have c sections and i worry for her.

Ok here's a pic of the mallard ducklings I got this morning- they are so dang cute! And I got this corner little pan, made for rabbits & ferrets for them to use a little place to swim while they're little. They LOVE it! Oh and Brook, I took your advise about the horse bedding pellets- they are GREAT

Are they in water?CUTE!! Arethose the horse pellet bedding Brook talked about?

You will need to either get another bator, or make one yourself. The earlier eggs will need to be removed when it's time for lockdown, if not you could drown out the E.H.A eggs due to the humidity being in the high 60s-70s. If you have a styro cooler, an extra lamp, & some sponges you can put one together really easy, since you only need it to hold constant for a few days. If you plan on incubating more throughout the yr then better to buy one or make a nice one w/ all the gadgets & gizmos

SO over here @ the early morning In The Sticks Soap Opera - I nearly had heart failure when I woke up. Wake up, wondering when I passed out, went to the bathroom & as I was exiting...I looked inside incubator #1 & gee willickers, if I hadn't just peed - I woulda done peed myself right then & there...then had heart failure. The temp read 107!!!!!!!!!!!

I was raising the temp back after candling & apparently passed out from exhaustion. panicking I threw off the lid & fanned them. Only took out 6 random eggs -expecting them all to be dead- (Most of the eggs are my JB eggs & the ones I look forward to the most besides the few quail eggs that have been developing.)
all 6 of them were still wiggling about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that will be the end of evening candling for this lady right here. These babies are all extra special now

Know the feeling!! YIKES!!

OMGolly moses!! Will he even know? Whats a few more in the scheme of things really ?HUMM?? Lust (see what i just wrote ? meant JUST ... Well LUST for new chicks it is.. Freud would love that. ) Anyway JUST between us and the chickens!
