Well, it wasn’t good. Margo is very weak. I thought she was going to die in my lap, but when I dropped cool water on her beak she sipped it in and woke up. It’s also warmer than expected today, which doesn’t help. I did my usual fan/mister stuff I do on hot days while I was there.
Margo did accept some egg yolk, her favorite treat, but will not drink or eat anything else on her own.
When she was looking very poorly, some flock mates were starting to crowd and show interest, so I left her in the mini coop, still with her friends, but she’ll have the opportunity to finish the egg yolk if she chooses and if she passes, they won’t maul her.
If she is still with us after work, and I intend to leave early and take some vacation time, I will tube feed her later. I’ll need help with that. I 60cc syringes, aquarium tubing, and kaytee exact baby bird formula. Do I need distilled water?
