I have four pages to catch up on...been busy the past few days being midwife for my Chocolate Lab, Kalli

She gave birth to 7 beautiful babies! 2 Chocolate boys, 3 Chocolate girls, 1 yellow girl, and 1 blonde girl. She's a first time mom, so I've had to work with her since the birth, getting her to accept the pups and not growl at them every time they get near her. She's doing much better, and although she's still growling occasionally, is a devoted new mom!

Anyhoo, wanted to share some pics before I go catch up and see what action I've missed!

They are beautiful!!! I love Chocolate Labs! I know what you mean about the growling...my Pom/Yorkie is like that. When she's weaning them she turns into full blown Cujo, lol!

Wunjo that is a very cool goodmorning! Sorry I havent been on, we had a litter of English Springer Spaniel pups whelp and I have my hands full with them at the moment! I will check back as soon as I have time!

Looks like we were both busy! My Chocolate Lab whelped Thursday, but had gone into 1st stage labor Wed.! 7 beautiful baby labs

I will add, I was upset for the people on the waiting list, there was 16 this time. I already have 10 previous owners of pups from us on the next list and adding the ones that want to be kept on the list takes me over 20! I cant provide for them I said to myself that I will always keep previous pup owners at the top of the list. Now I am second thinking what is "right" but I already know the great homes they are providing!

Nice big and healthy! WOW alot of pups! so sweet! Congrats I am sure you finally caught up on sleep! I finally did!

We had them wed too, from 3 am to 8 am she had 5 but one died a few days before birth, it was NOT a fun delivery. The dead pup was hung up in the horn and until it passed it held everyone up. not a happy time, but all the remaining are doing great, gaining like crazy and mom had meds and has no fever and is doing amazing too!

Kalli had a hard time as well...7 hours between two of the pups. I was a nervous wreck!

All the pups are fine, though...and gaining weight. Kalli is still iffy with being a mom...she growls at them, a lot. Then she licks their butts

Let's see if I can upload the pups' weight chart...they were close to the same weight as yours it looks like.

I tried to, but it's just been too hectic. Was up all night Wed. night while she was in stage 1...didn't want puppies showing up without me there in case she needed help, since she's a first time mom. Up all night Thursday after all the pups were born because Kalli kept growling at them, and even snapped at one. I was so afraid she was gonna hurt or kill one. Snagged about 3 hours of sleep laying beside her...was around 3 am when my eyes just shut on their own. Up at 6 Friday morning cuz Kalli sat on one, and the pup raised holy h-e-double hockey stick. Hubby flew in from Nashville after a week of training, had to pick him up at the airport Friday night (flight came in at 11:30) but didn't leave the airport until after midnight because his checked bag was still in Charlotte...it never made it on the plane...so he had to do paperwork to have the airline deliver it to our house today. Didn't get home until 1:15 am this morning cuz the airport is an hour away. Finally fell asleep at 2 am, but was woken up by my 10 year old playing Minecraft on my computer with the volume up at 7 am. Zombies...not a pleasant sound to wake up to. Needless to say, he got an ear full from me, and instructions that on weekends he can't play games until I am PHYSICALLY out of bed. Some people's kids, I tell ya!

So, all in all, I have gotten roughly 8 hours of sleep since Wednesday morning. I hear my pillow calling my name as I type
