That's just my opinion.You could see his feet, they were slashed so you could see the flesh and blood, the berries were In front of him, and, while a bit squashed, did not appear to be stamped into the ground. If he stamped into the gound, it would be more of a circular pattern on his feet, with grape skins too. Not verticle slashes and the flesh showing. However, you could be onto something, maybe it was an illusion to further secure the notion in Thor's mind that he was irreparably broken.![]()

Also, he clawed scratches into the wall behind him if you look hard enough.
