She has had access to water and was trying to eat while I had them all out free ranging. I put her up in a crate because I read they should be kept away from food and water for 12 hours to see if the crop was emptyingIt sounds like her crop is impacted- maybe from not drinking enough? I haven't experienced this so I can't help that way but I'm sure there are plenty of articles you could find on it. Here is a definition from Poultry help.com (I did a quick Google search) "If the crop is 'hard' to the touch, the crop could be impacted. This happens when feed is 'stuck' in the crop and the chicken can't 'swallow' or pass the feed on down to the proventriculous and gizzard."
Thank you for your advice either way!I'm sorry I can't help more but I don't want to give you bad advice- maybe you could try giving her some sort of food-grade oil to lubricate everything? Let me call in some more experienced people

That's probably what I would've done. Hopefully she makes it!Okay so I put her in a crate when I made the initial post. I just put them all to bed and checked her. Her crop was still pretty solid, so I gave her some mineral oil and massaged the crop some
