Thanks for sharing your experience! I will be watching the nail polished egg closely, but am not expecting success. I probably won't try it again...unless by some miracle it works.
I wax patched a cracked egg in a hatch a long egg. I sprayed the egg with hydrogen peroxide, then let it dry, then waxed the crack. It hatched without any assistance. I have another egg that has a small crack in it that I have done the same with and will be setting tomorrow.
Congrats! That should be just the right number of turkeys.
I was actually out to pick up some chicken eggs (we have a small flock of 5 hens) and by a misunderstanding I ended up with duck eggs, haha! It was quite the surprise when I got home and opened the carton. We have never hatched ducks so this should be fun. We've got our duckling brooder ready to go and are starting on the duck run shortly. Woohoo!
