I got two new hatchlings today, both buff orpingtons from my own flock. I noticed they both have a teeny tiny bit of leg feathering, almost invisible but definitely there. Interesting, must be something from when their strain had some cochin thrown in to give them fluffier skirts.
No more hatching here until I get back from surgery in a couple of weeks. Being admitted to the hospital tomorrow, so now I gotta go instruct my mom on the chicken routines! Sure feels weird to let someone else take care of my birds for that long, especially while having tiny ones in the brooder. They'll be so big when I get back! I'll miss you guys, but I'll catch up in the june thread
