May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

Good morning all ,, a lil past 6 am here day 4 and all looks pretty good the genisis running the best so far with temps at 99.7 100.4 with 32.% humidity the innovator holding ok at 99 - 100.8 with the humidity being a little high for my liking at 62 - 55 % but I made some adjustments and have it coming down in the right direction 52 and falling this morning I had my typical temp spike on day 3 when the embryos kicked in and started to generate heat the hova did a good job of regulating for this but the innovator not as well hit 101.0 then settled down I have seen this before and have learned what it meant and just left well enough alone the spike is a good thing as it let's us know we don't have a load of duds in the racks.. I hope this won't be my last post to the may hatch thread as I am preparing for a planned power outage from 8 am to 11 and 1 pm to 5 so I have my inverter ready and car battery charged I will not run the turners only the heating elements to try and keep it all running the hova will be fine as it only draws .43 amps but the innovator quite a bit more ,,, the old adage of you only get what you pay for lol wish me luck with my power outage it would be another three months to attempt to replace them with more from the states this hatch has been six months in the planning and it would just kill me to loose them lol

Dang missed you! LOL Hope all goes well with the power outage. How often do you have them?

Posted this a while ago but seems to have gotten lost at the bottom of a page.
I can;t believe I got these eggs through the post randomly without even putting in an order??? I wonder if they are the missing Dorkings??? There is no details on the packing so I may never know???
Well the eggs are set. -

Temperature I think is a bit low but I hope will be fine it is sitting at 36.5 - 37.3 = 99 it is fluctuating and I can;t seem to get it to stay at 99.5? I am hoping it will be fine as others have mentioned a slight increase in temp when the eggs start to grow which will hopefully add that extra bump I need to get it up to 99.5 ???
Humidity at 35%What do you guys think?????
I am checking everything and hoping to have chicks not mush or lizards?

Oes

I would wait till fater day 3, the spike in temp doesnt stay it will level back down. You really need 99.5 maybe 100 or 101. It can kill the chick at 104 for an extended time. But I would rather be a little warmer. If you stay on the cooler side you can really extend your hatch time. 21 day hatchers could take 23-26 days

I am new to bating and I put my first set of 37eggs in on may first going to be cool to see what happens I am trying to get the humitity up to around 45or so but it ant reached that yet any help would be good I have two of the troths full and hope the 100.2 temp will bring it up a bit

35-38% is optimal for days 1-18 I would shoot for that instead of 45

well 9;45 and the so called planned power outage has not happened,,,, i spent the better part of last night preparing for the worst with my high value American pure breed immigrant eggs set on day 4 here is a pic of my back up system

Hahaha how prepared you are!!! So why did it take 6 months to get hatching eggs from US to Costa Rica?

I have a farm intacator forced air incubator.i have had the eggs in for 3days in around 39to 45%humitity an from 99.5to 100.8 is the to much heat and how do you get the digital thermometer and humitiy gauge to calibrate

My chick are hatching now but i need help please
Earlier there was a peep in the chick and i took it out to check on it i put itback in and left it and i few minute later the hen went crazy and rippedit open it got the chick out and ate the shell i thought it was a good mother the chick was cheeping and everything was fine so i came back about half an hour later and she had ripped the chick apart and ate half off it i was so worried i looked up online and it said that the hen sometimes kills all the chicks because its not their own so i went out 5 minutes ago and tried to get the hen out to get the eggs and put them in an incubator and i started to move the hen about and i saw a baby chick underneath fine but then the hen went crazy and peeked an egg open but there was nothing in it so i am very worried if wat will happen in the morning if all my chicks will die and i will have none

By the way i also read up that they kill the chicks if there is something wrong with it i just dont know what to do
Please help:(

I like to keep my humidity 35-38% the first 18 days, but that is just from my own experience and for the region I live in. Your temps look great. You need to google your brand of thermometer and hygrometer to see how to calibrate
