May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

Having a mixed/so-so hatch.

Started with 2 broodies sharing 8 eggs. Two hatched successfully on Saturday. Two have had something happen (stepped on? squashed? shell broken?) and I found them dead in the nest not entirely out of their eggs on Sunday and Monday. One hen has been moved to the other end of the 'nursery' with the 2 surviving chicks and the other hen is still sitting on 4 eggs.

well oes I myself and I'm sure quite a few others are going to miss you in the hatch threads I really enjoyed helping you along to a lil fluff butt from the eggs you did not order and just showed up in the post, as for brooding eggburt I would give him a small playmate asap and add some sav a chick or equivalent to the water keep the brooder @ 100 for 8 days and see where the wind blows the lil fuzz but as far as the the other eggs sounds like a 50% development rate which is on par with shipped eggs clears are infertile and out of your control eggburt has the luck of the Irish for sure keep us posted

Yes but why did they die?????? I mean I would have settled for 3 live chicks!

Oes

I don't know if he did pip. It's the egg that was slightly cracked that I put candle wax over. I don't think the yolk sack is absorbed, but I'm not sure.

Help needed! Rosa has been laying on her egg now for 21 days and today there is cracks appearing on the egg!!!! Do I need to separate Rosa from other chickens? What do I feed the chick?

. No just leave her be to hatch her clutch she will do fine after she is done then you can move her and the peeps to a private location get your self some good non medicated chick starter and electroliytes for the water and let her brood them keep the water shallow under 1 inch deep they will not need food or water for a couple of days
