Yeah, well, good example of how much easier it is to find a really appropriate horse when you are looking in the "right" price bracket

So, it just comes down to how much your time/driving/frustration is worth, and whether you just want to get a horse now or are willing to bottom-trawl for the next however many months (possibly plus) it takes to find one like that for half the price... which does happen, just not often.

Personally I think it'd make complete sense to just pay what's required to get a decent horse without undue stress and time waste... but then it comes down to how doable that is, and how many other demands there are for the same part of your bank account.

The draftX mare does not look like she has the strongest back in the world but looks *generally* strong enough (and appealing enough in other ways) that I for sure think she's worth a look.

I know he does look BIG. And much bigger than 16.1 but then the gal in the pic looks like she's standing a little down hill from him.

I LOVE the smooth rides of the gaited horses. In my 20's, I didn't mind the trotters but once I hit my 40's and now 50's, I'll take a smooth walk, running walk any day.
