Well, I could, and it would probably be more responsible, but my kitties (especially of the milky family) are literally barn cats born and bred.
My neighbors poor un-spayed barn cat has a litter of kittens nearly every year! This is Milky, Chainsaw (RIP), Chester, and Hagan's mum. Their dad is probably a feral. The first weeks of the kittens lives are spent in a barn.
Whenever Milky was inside, unless she was sleeping peacefully on my bed or helping with the laundry, she was at the door meowing to get out.
Basil and Button are also inside, and the kitties would eat them.
