with 5" diameter legs and all that weight to it and concrete "feet" i suspect it would take AT LEAST a herd of bison to topple it ! i wonder if solarquail is wondering if it would tip b/c the legs look long?

Yes, I didn't understand that to.
Today after lunch (my lunch

) I get there to see if there were eggs to get, and find a wild dog (medium size), he was standing up and struggling just to reach the bottom with is nose. The pen is almost 3months old and yet have no signs of attempted breaking-in, so I think it's fine.

We had ours for several months before the first break in and it was by a coon. The cages where hanging on the side of the shed just under the over hang of the roof. We use the spring latches and the coon had to have been on the roof and reached down to open the latch. It opened the cage and the 4 that where in there got out. It got one and we caught the other 3 in the woods behind the house. I also got a horrible case of poison sumac. When I saw them I just took off after them in a pair of sandles, shorts and a tank top. Everything that was exposed got rashes and I was climbing through alot of vines and stuff trying to get to them so it got me nearly everywhere. Next time they will be free. But now we use a clip lock over the spring latch and it can't get opened so it can't get to them that way.

Looks nice.

I suppose us Yankees think everything has to "LooK" sturdy... as your legs appear a tad on the thin side.

I think it will hold up fine.

I really like your Quail Pen! The set up seams really ideal! How many quail do you house in there? I'm looking to get around 10-15 quail and I have a huge chicken coop with 50 chickens. I'm probably going to down size to 30 or so hens and get quail. How much square feet do I need for 15 quail? Thank you,

Well, my first advice would be not to keep quail and chickens in direct contact, because they carry diseases that are deadly mutually, but don't manifest in their own species.
As about the space, quail need minimal space, quail egg factories have cages with about 20 square inches per bird or less and they still give an egg every day. So as you can see it's pretty much with you how many space you want to give to your quails (the quails I'm talking about are Coturnix, Bobwhites need more space I think).
I have 8 quails in this pen which has about 32 square feet.

Good luck;)

No I'm not going to mix them together. I'm wanting to have around 10 or so Pharaoh Quail and I'm looking into making a coop similar to yours with the nesting area and the coop. I'm getting ready to by a bator in the spring and wanting to start hatching quail and or chickens! I'm excited for the new experiences!
