Mega algae problem in waterers. What is the best way to get rid of it?

ok i am using steal and it pretty high up on the list. so is it the more reactive the less algae or less reactive the more algae?

I have the same problem. I use the hard plastic dog crocks for waters. I keep the bowls shaded with boards. But I still have to srcub them out once a week. I just use a little bleach and let them soak for a few minutes. Rinse and scrub and rinse again. Works great.

The reactivity is for metals, not algae.
