Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Any goat keepers? I've been thinking about goats for about a year now, and an opportunity may have just come about. I need to setup a shelter and a pen area for them though, and wanted to get an idea of what I should do. I'm looking at a couple pygmy goats.
There are some good goat sites to read. One of my favorites is based in Michigan. Try searching for Fiasco Farms, or just google goats. Good luck.

I was pooped last night. Back to reality today. Clean pigs, clean barn for farm visit tomorrow, mow 3 acres of green stuff, oh and clean duck pond, yay!

May is such a iffy month weather wise! We had snow last month!! This has been discussed before and it was decided that June would be safer. We need warmer weather for the chicks!
It was a fun time! Speaker was very informative.
That little chicken sure can fly! Glad we finally caught it! So far no reaction to the poison ivy I went thru.

Yes, May could be dicey weather wise for sure. Doesn't matter to Brett and I really, we just thought to put it out there :) and you can have the fall get together at your place, right?

So happy to hear no reaction to the P.I. That last patch the hen chose was full of thorns! so either slashed or poison ivy the choice. Amazing flyer for sure!!!

Argh, you are gonna make me run downstairs to look, lol.
The anti-fungal spray is out in the coop, but it's one for athletes foot. The probiotic water powder is Bacillus Subtilis, plus I use Ultimate Flora Probiotic capsules that I open and sprinkle on food, it has 10 different strains in it. And of course, the plain yogurt has the acidophulis or however it's spelled. I am feeling positive as the hen not only is looking better, but actually laid a lovely egg today!

I think I'm going to hold off on goats for the moment. Someone near me is selling them for $40 each, but they're not registered/registerable. From my reading it sounds like it's better to have registered for when selling the offspring.
