Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Glad you went to the doctor, Pickles. Hope you feel better soon!

Any of you old timers remember Chicken Dad, Harvey Pearl? Wife Kathy. Raised bantam cochins? Harvery passed away Feb 5th of a dissection of his aorta. Super nice people. Had to give up their chickens because of health problems. Kathy had a leg amputated a few years ago.
Well, hope you all have a great day. A bit breezy today.

I got on Townline website yesterday to see if they had any specials and they had a Disclaimer-not taking any orders due to increased demand. Oh boy.
Looks like they're taking orders for shipments in mid-April. I wouldn't want chicks much sooner than that here anyway. During Covid we did get chicks in March -- the week after schools down. It worked but I did worry more about them. They did ok, but I'd still rather it not be quite that early.
Egg prices are starting to go down around here. Maybe the demand will slow down?

The "cheap" eggs are down to $3.29/dozen at the Lowell Meijer. A few weeks ago, they were $5.09. The eggs cases were pretty full too. Maybe the egg bubble has burst.

Windy! today. Had some horizontal rain a bit ago. I think it's a good day to stay inside.

Wow, stopped getting notices for this thread. I saw sandhills, 4 pairs, yesterday too.

Also saw the Townline notice yesterday, they took all of the bird information down too. And today the notice is gone and the information is back. I sent an email to Fowlerville Feed, they are pre-scheduled with Townline and accepting orders still. So sounds like there is still a way to get chicks in April from them if you are near Fowlerville.
