Speaking of buying eggs at Meijer, (later in Raz's post) the penny saver (cheap) eggs are back to $1.09. Down from $5.39 a few months ago.

Is anyone concerned about the smoke coming down into Illinois? I'm right in the center and the haze is crazy thick. Smells bad. My throat is sore so I imagine my girls are struggling too.

I'm very concerned about all the smoke coming through. It was horrible yesterday, not too bad (damned by faint praise!) today, and it'll be worse tomorrow.

I am concerned for sure! It bothers my lungs and my eyes. Our dogs are lounging around more and keeping their eyes closed more than usual.

I'm spending minimal time outside, and wearing my N95 face mask when outside most of the time. Miserable! Critters who must be outside, can't help it, but as little activity as possible.

I must be in the only area of the state that was smoke free today. It was beautiful here all day. Now the almost full moon is in a cloudless sky and casting shadows. Fireflies are everywhere and saw a few bats too.
All in all a pretty good day.

Smoke is pretty thick here today! It's horrible. Keep saying it'll be better "tomorrow" but isn't. Wind was suppose to change direction, but I guess it didn't. Chicago has the worst air quality of the world! Then Detroit. My son lives in Chicago.
My French Marans that I got at chickenstock are doing great. Out free ranging with the big girls. No big drama. I peck here and there. Mary, did you say they were hatched in May?

A member on here of the Ohio thread mentioned that their hospital is full of people with breathing problems because of the smoke.
